Annual town meetings underway in Western Maine
The first of this season's municipal elections and annual town meetings in Western Maine begin today in Bingham and Norridgewock.
Voting in Bingham is from 12:45 to 6:30 p.m. at the former Quimby School gymnasium, with the town meeting to begin at 7 p.m. In addition to the usual financial warrant articles, voters will also be asked to appoint five members to the Economic Development Committee to work with selectmen on a 10-year municipal growth plan.
In Norridgewock, voting started at 8 a.m. and goes through 7 p.m. at the Mill Stream School gymnasium. The town meeting starts at 7:30, during which voters will discuss a proposed municipal ethics policy.
