Well, that's a lot nicer.


Our muggy summer went on break, giving us a nice weekend and me a chance to tidy up my garden before the deer do it for me.


Driving north to Farmington from Livermore Falls yesterday, I passed Bean's Corner—the local name for the intersection between Route 133 and 156 in Jay. It is a lovely spot with nice views that seems incongruous with its vehicular history: MDOT has recorded nearly 30 right-angle crashes in the past five years, the most of any location in the state.


A four-way stop was installed in 2024; since then, there's been five crashes.


MDOT has proposed a $3.6 million, counterclockwise roundabout, which would be Franklin County's first. Public comment on the issue is being accepted until July 25. The project is tentatively scheduled for 2028. More in the links down below.
